The A-Salt-Weapon line of topwaters are equipped with only the finest saltwater hardware. Each lure is tank tested to insure that fluid "walk-the-dog" action. They are outfitted with two ringed single "J" hooks produced by Owner. The reason being, when the ringed hook is attached to the split-ring of the lure, the hooks naturally face toward the tail of the bait. This gives the A-Salt-Weapon an attribute of being weedless, and allows it to glide through floating grass in coves that are deemed unfishable with topwaters outfitted with treble hooks.

Our Southern Shad line of soft plastic baits are offered in a variety of proven fish catching colors. Southern Shad tails are never dipped in paint. Our soft plastics are made from two individual pieces that are molded together. We have colors developed for stained and clear water applications. The colors that are developed for clear water have a semi-transparent colored tail and body. We feel this gives the bait a more natural look. The opaque colors were developed for fishing in stained water, thus giving the bait greater visibility.

Down South Lures is a family run business that was inspired to make their own line of fishing lures because of our love for the coast and the great fishing that it offers.
